Wei Sun's Award-Winning Design Embraces the Spirit of the Tea Ceremony

Located in Tianmen, China, Kang Yuan is a unique hotel design that stands out in its pursuit of tranquility amidst the hustle and bustle. The design, which began in June 2019 and was completed in April 2020, is a 2800 square meter hotel lobby with a height of 3.5 meters. The materials used in its realization include wood, glass, metal, and stone, creating a harmonious blend of natural and modern elements.

The design's unique properties lie in its oriental traditional "three-in" welcome space immersion experience, which encourages guests to slow down and appreciate the beauty of life. The warm light, elegant atmosphere, and soft music create a peaceful environment where guests can shed the stresses of life and immerse themselves in personal pursuits.

Wei Sun's design was inspired by the frugality, harmony, tranquility, and tranquility of the "tea ceremony spirit". This inspiration is evident in the design's ability to transport people from the secular world to a secluded vacation spot, offering a healing experience in a wonderland-like setting. The design also aims to create cultural identity stories through rich social sensory experiences.

One of the design's key features is the staircase, which serves as the hub of the entire two-story space. The three-stage corner staircase provides a richer perspective and sense of participation, making the journey through the hotel feel more like a garden visit. Another innovative feature is the replacement of the traditional front desk with a face-to-face screen wall, which not only conforms to the traditional architectural form but also creates a sense of visual extension for the limited space.

Wei Sun's Kang Yuan design was awarded Silver in A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2021. The award recognizes top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation. The design was lauded for its strong technical characteristics, splendid artistic skill, and the remarkable level of excellence it introduced.
